C. Phillip Daspit, M.D., F.A.C.S.

 

Dr. Daspit graduated from L.S.U. School of Medicine in New Orleans and after Internship served in the U.S. Navy as a Flight Surgeon in support of the operational forces involved in the Vietnam War.  He then completed his residency training in General Surgery/Otolaryngology at the University of California San Francisco.   Fellowship training in otology/neurotology then followed at the House Ear Clinic/Institute in Los Angeles.  He then began his practice of otology/neurotology in Phoenix January, 1980 as the first fully trained sub specialist in this field in Arizona.  He has been associated with the Barrow Neurological Institute since then currently serving as the chief of the Neurotology section.  He is a founding member of the Barrow Skull Base Team and the Barrow Acoustic Neuroma Team.

 

Nationally, Dr. Daspit is a member of the Triological Societyone of only two societies that require a thesis for entry.  He has served on the council and was elected vice president of the Western Section in 2004.  He is also a member of the American Otologic Society and currently serves on the council as Editor-Librarian.  His other membership is in the American Neurotology Society.

 

Dr. Daspit completed 22 years as a Reserve Naval Medical Officer officially retiring in 2003 as a Navy Captain. 

 

His practice focuses on diseases of the ear, skull base and facial nerve.  He is also qualified to treat patients with radiosurgery utilizing either the Gamma Knife or the cyberknife.

Peter A. Weisskopf, M.D., F.A.C.S.

 

Dr Weisskopf graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine.  After graduation, he completed a surgical residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.  He then trained as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon, and served a tour at Joint Reserve Air Station Willow Grove, PA.  After completing his Flight Surgeon tour, he returned to San Diego as a Resident in Otolaryngology.  During his residency he was involved in numerous research projects, earning a number of awards for his work.  After completing his residency, he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan where he served for two years.  At Yokosuka, Dr. Weisskopf served as the Department Head for Otolaryngology.  After completing his tour in Japan, he left the Navy and returned to Los Angeles for a Fellowship in Neurotology at the House Ear Clinic focusing primarily on the treatment of acoustic neuromas and other skull base and ear diseases.  Additional training in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery was obtained at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, home of the original Gamma Knife unit.

 

Currently his practice focuses on diseases of the ear, skull base and facial nerve.  Dr Weisskopf is part of the Barrow Acoustic Neuroma Team at the Barrow Neurological Institute.

 

Dr. Weisskopf is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Neurotology.

 

 

Shelley Baltodano, AuD, CCC-A

Shelley Baltodano received a Master of Science degree in Audiology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She is received a doctorate degree in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. A Certificate of Clinical Competence was awarded to Shelley by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association in 1997. Shelley completed her clinical fellowship training at House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, California in 1998.

Over the course of her audiology career, Shelley has worked with world renowned specialists in otology, neurotology, and neurology. Her skills include comprehensive diagnostic testing, electrophysiology, and hearing rehabilitation. Additionally, her focus over the past three years has been in assisting physicians to restore the sense of hearing via implantable hearing devices.  Shelley is currently the only audiologist in Arizona who works with the Auditory Brainstem Implant, a device used to help restore hearing in patients with Neurofibromatosis II (NFII).

 

 

Beth Sanchez M.A. CCC-A

 

Beth graduated with a Master of Arts in Audiology from San Jose State University in San Jose, California in 1997.  She obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association after completing her clinical fellowship year in San Jose.  She worked at privately owned audiology clinic in San Jose until 2002.  In November 2002, she moved to Phoenix, and worked for a corporate hearing aid company until March 2004.  She joined Arizona Otologic Associates in April 2004.  She is currently enrolled in a doctorate program at the Arizona School of Health Sciences and will complete her Au.D. in March 2007. 

 

Within the practice, Beth performs diagnostic hearing testing, electrophysiological testing, dispenses hearing aids, and works with cochlear implants.

 

Beth is licensed as a dispensing audiologist in the State of Arizona
